UCF Investigation Procedures

Let's be clear about our procedures for responding to discrimination-related complaints

The Office of Institutional Equity has set forth procedures for the investigation of discrimination-related grievances. The applicable procedures are dictated by (1) the nature of the allegations, and (2) the affiliation of the respondent (individual responding to a complaint of discrimination).

Procedures for investigations involving employee respondents and affiliated third parties

These procedures apply to any employee (faculty or staff) respondent, as well as direct support organization employees and affiliated third-parties (including contractors), involving allegations under No. 2-004 Nondiscrimination Policy.

Procedures for investigations involving student respondents

These procedures apply to any student or student organization respondent involving allegations under No. 2-004 Nondiscrimination Policy, the Rules of Conduct (Regulation 5.008(5)), and/or the Organizational Rules of Conduct (Regulation 5.012(5)).

Procedures for investigations and adjudications under the Title IX Grievance Policy

These procedures apply to any student or employee respondent involving allegations under No. 2-012 Title IX Grievance Policy and/or the Rules of Conduct (Regulation 5.008(6)).

Note: These procedures govern only investigations conducted by the Office of Institutional Equity and not any investigation conducted by a law enforcement or external agency.
